Oil testing

I will second Jeff's comments about oil testing. I have three of my driver cars tested regularly -- ironically also by Blackstone Labs. I find it useful in checking for abnormal wear trends (it is best to compare tests of the same vehicle to each other, although slight anti freeze leaks will stand out immediately), and it also helps me chose the best type of oil to use for my kind of use of the cars.

Saw the Shell Rotella 10W30 in gallon containers on the shelf at my local WAL-MART a few weeks ago. Started using the Shell Rotella 15W40 about a year ago after reading Duke's post. Prior to that had been using Pennzoil 10W30 in my 68 original owner 327/350 with 99K on it now.
