    Harry,

Many hearts are broken on E-bay every day!

The sellers who don't get paid and the buyers who don't get what they paid for!

    You be the judge!

This seller is pretty savvy - he has entrapped his bidders. Being all private, there is no way to warn them. So sit back and watch, Harry.

I was thinking about this earlier. What if this JUST HAPPENS TO BE a real '67 L88 tanker!!? This guy who owns it now, by his unscrupulous actions, has made this car forever suspect. Real or not, it can never reach its potential as a very very rare Corvette.

The new owner may as well just sell the darned thing for parts. It'll always be a Corvette pariah. What a shame.

      Pete

Odds are that it never changed hands. Use Ebay bids to "set" a value for the car.

What would Ebay's commission be on a sale that large? If it was sold to a "deadbeat bidder" and falls through, would Ebay investigate?

You never pay too much, you only buy too soon. Too bad this guy will have to wait 173 years and 8 months to be right on price. Bill

Ebay has a max fee on a car sale, regardless of price. last time I was involved with one, it was only about $100 if it sold.

It's worth 100 bucks to set a price at $860K
