Re: 1964 Wheel Cylinders and Hoses
Don-----
Raybestos, Wagner, and United Brake are all aftermarket suppliers of brake system parts wnd ALL have very good reputations. In fact, these manufacturers currently supply brake system components to many OEM vehicle manufacturers although through different channels than their aftermarket parts. However, I would be very comfortable using their products in a circumstance in which the GM parts are no longer available.
You still may be able to obtain GM/Delco rear wheel cylinders for your car under GM #18009065, left side, and GM #18009066, right side. It is possible, though, that these parts have been recently discontinued. As far as I know, the GM/Delco front wheel cylinders are not available.
The GM SERVICE brake hoses for 1963-64 Corvettes with drum brakes and 65-82 Corvettes with disc brakes are the same and are still available. The fronts are GM #357793 and the rears are GM #357794. These hose are configured similarly, but not identically, to your original hoses. There is NO source (other than NOS) for brake hoses configured IDENTICALLY to your originals. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
