Are These for a Side Exhaust Car?

Joe Lucia, can you tell if the part #3933848 in Ebay ad 4583112057 is for a side pipe car?

    Don-----

I usually don't get involved in side pipe issues, but I will in this case. GM #3933848 is a SERVICE-only rocker molding applicable to NON-SIDEPIPE 1967 Corvettes. For side-pipe-equipped cars, the SERVICE only part you'd be looking for is GM #3933846. While the 3933848 is discontinued from SERVICE, the 3933846 molding for side pipe cars is still available from GM for about 160 bucks, GM list.

Thanks Joe! I didn't know that the molding was still available from GM. I'd better go ahead and get one while I still can.

Joe, "SERVICE only part " ??

Joe, What do you mean by "Service only part"? How are these parts different from the original GM parts? (Appearance, quality, fit) Thanks

Re: Joe, "SERVICE only part " ??

Joe, A "service" part is one that is sold by GM Service Parts Operation (GMSPO) as a functional "replacement" for a given "production" part. The service part may or may not look the same in all respects. It could be a different color or configuration, but not sufficiently so to interfere with it's functionality. These differences could be very subtle. An example would be a "service" cork valve cover gasket. It has extra holes to accommodate both types of small block valve covers, straight and offset holes. The original, "production" gasket only had 4 holes and no extra ones.

            Sorry, I meant "Ken".
