    Editing posts

Does anyone know if there is a way to go back and edit a post? I always end up finding typos in mine after they've been posted.

The only way I know of is to copy the text, delete your reply, then paste your the text onto a new reply and edit as necessary.

I wish we had a better way to edit. I hate seeing my typos and grammatical errors.

Its not my typos that bother me, its being so ignorant in front of you guys. In all seriousness, this is a great forum, I wish my job had a reference like this place.

There is a way to add "spell check". I recall the name is ieSpell. Goggle it and download it. It becomes part of your browsers top tool bar not part of this forum. It allows you to do a spell check on anything you type in using the browser.

          Hy Skol English

          Dave,

I wouldn't be too concerned about typing errors and spelling. This is a bunch of car guys, not english class. I slaughter words and use totally incorrect grammer here constantly but no one seems to mind. Most of the guys that I knew in hy skol had a lot more interest in cars/girls than they did in paying attention in english class.

As long as everyone else does the two-finger shuffle on the keyboard, yours do not stand out anymore than everyone else's.

There are enough weather, wether, whehter, and teh for the and so on here that most just read right through it.

OK, but with this being NCRS and all, I figured the minutia really mattered. : )

I sure hope not because I would be one of the first to be asked to leave. This little blonde girl did all my homework in english class so I eventually passed but never really got the hang of diagraming sentences and dangling participels and all that. Wonder what ever happened to her..........

LOL......Mike C. Imagine at one point in time someone said "HEY" I can understand what your saying to me....how would you write that on a cave wall so I can understand it there too??? Brillant!!! Can't understand why this genius didn't invent a computer....next. But then maybe we would be flying our corvettes to pluto today for a chilled sour apple martini at the local pub had that happended so we are better off where we are.. perhaps

I'd see those typos in my messages and feel like an idiot. But I have a new strategy that has helped some.

Type in your message and then PREVIEW it instead of posting it. Then go get a beer or something that gives you a short break from the message. Then come back and read your previewed message. Fix the inevitable typos. Then post it. The break is the key.

                      Not perfect, but it works.

If you really want to do it right, open up Word and type in your reply. Do the Spell and Grammar check. Then copy and paste it into the NCRS Post Response box.

It also lets you check other messages in the thread while typing a reply, so you can hit all the comments in one note.

It helps to not have a 13 inch laptop screen, though.
