    58-59 Corvette rear shocks

I have a chance to purchase a pair of 1958 Corvette rear shocks, but the only problem is I don"t have any idea what they look like. Date code is 58, they are Delco shocks with a part number. Does anyone have any pictures of orignal rear shocks that they could post?

Mike, the lower section is spiral configuration and the markings are on the top section.

Mike, I'm no rocket scientist, but I would be very weary of purchasing original shock absorbers that are nearing 50 years of age. Anybody please correct me if I'm wrong, but the seals will be very suspect on any part that is that old. I would be very surprised if they even functioned like a normal shock absorber.

i'll be putting the original,50 year old shocks back on my 55 vette. they'll do just fine for its flight judging. they won't be on the ole 55 when it goes for its PV. suprisingly , there was no evidence of shock fluid seepng out beyond the seals and they still have a little resistance to opening and closing. mike
