ORIGINAL '66 EXPANSION TANK R26 CAP

I'm aware of the details in the JM regarding original R26 caps. Did all original R26, 15# caps have the AC logo circled, or were some just stamped AC?

Rob - How is the cap you have stamped. Does it have the 15# & RC-26 stamped on the one ear and the AC logo near the opposite ear?

I don't recall having seen a '66 or later original RC-26 without the circle around the AC; but there are at least several (or probably more) possibilities 1) the circle didn't get stamped, 2) the circle is stamped very lightly, or 3) '63 (I think) and '64-'65 sb Corvettes w/ C60 air conditioning used a RC-26 cap and the stamped information on the top of these RC-26s was different from the information stamped on the top of the '66 and later RC-26 caps. On '66 and later RC-26s, I usually see them stamped with the AC logo in a circle (by one ear) and 15# & RC-26 (on the other ear). Most examples I've seen have one circle around the AC logo but I've seen examples with two circles around the AC logo and one example I have has the AC logo in a single circle stamped by the one ear and the 15# & RC-26 stamped on the same ear and there is nothing stamped by the other ear.
