    1963 Rear Spring Plate

Are there any differences between the later 7/16" hole spring plate and one used for a 1963 9/16" hole other than the bolthole size?

    Thanks Ray

No, the hole size is the only difference. The 7/16" hole size plate, GM #457977, remains available from GM. The earlier plate is GM-discontinued. However, it's available in reproduction. Also, Vette Brakes sells a reproduction of the earlier plate which is thicker and, consequently, stronger. The original thickness plate is adequate, but I like the idea of the thicker plate. The "ears" of the stock plate can distort a little. This doesn't really cause a functional problem, but I don't like it.
