    C- 2 headlight rotation

Does any on have a source for the switch that rotates the headlights on a C-2? I would prefer to buy just the switch. The car is mostly original and there is nothing wrong with the housing. As resourceful as people on this web site are, maybe a way to rebuild it?. Thank you Dale

    Dale,

You can buy a new switch and use your old housing if that turns you on! Using half of an original part should get your half of the originality points on the judging field--right.

        Dale,

Here is a picture someone posted a while back. It might give an idea of how to rebuild a switch.

          Dale,

You will find those switches are available but for more than $100. I recently took mine apart because it did not work the lights for the up function but did work for the down function. That picture really helps. You will notice a tab is missing on the right of the switch while the tab on the left is still intact. Mine was broken off too. This allowed the switch to move slightly in the base and I lost contact with the up side of the switch. The contacts are very much like the old points in distributors. I used a small file to clean them up epoxied the tab back on the switch (I found it when I disassembled) and put it back in and it works fine now. Be careful when you remove the little tabs that hold the switch in the body. Use a paperclip through the small hole to depress the retaining tab as you pull it out. Also be ready to move the guage cluster forward slightly to get the switch out. I also had to drop some of the brackets that hold the steering column in place. Not a hard fix and well worth a try.
