Re: 65 Front Springs
re front springs carl rose hi mr clupper i think you are a very astute person for asking this question prior to rebuilding your front suspension if memory serves me correctly the base front springs were long for cars this was not affected by the a c option correct as in later years or cars the f suspension or cars had a spring with a shorter overall length i haven't documentation of the correct part here at work but think the springs had a green tag wrapped around the second or third coil now for suggestions i personally would try to find a set of original used springs from a mid year car if you purchase new springs you may note an increased ride heighth take care to seat the spring completely in the frame seat during reassembly even after taking these precautions i observed a correct ride heighth on my car only after about miles i am interested in other's opinions on this matter carl p s and be careful with these springs they can be quite hazardous from your question i believe you have some familiarity- Top

Re: 65 Front Springs
re front springs bill clupper yhanks carl the assy manual does show a specific part number for the smallblock with a c different from the non a c cars i am currently researching availability through chevrolet but i am always looking for other alternatives that might provide a return to the stock ride height my originals and i would presume a set of used springs have taken a set of about inches at the fender lip i'm just looking for someone with someone with successful practical experience thanks for the reply yes i have removed the old ones without difficulty let me know if you want info- Top

Re: 65 Front Springs
re front springs joe lucia to preface my comments i'd like to say that i have no direct experience with springs for a ' however as far as i can determine all ' small blocks with or without a c used the same front springs these were gm although virtually all chassis springs for corvettes have been discontinued by gm part number is still available from my experience with my ' which may or may not be applicable to ' models i have found that gm springs produce perfect ride height that's why i laid in a stock of additional gm coil springs lifetime supply for my ' before thay were discontinued if i owned a ' i'd do the same with part numberIn Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
