Hi, I need to do something to my brakes as they are leaking. I have stainless steel calipers. Is it a win/win deal to go for o-ring Brake calipers? Or are there any drawbacks? I live in Sweden where we don't drive our Corvettes in the winter so they are stored for 6-7 months every year. And this is not good for the regular type brakes. What's your experience with the use of o-ring calipers under these circumstances? Hasse Ryden #868

I changed to o-ring variety a couple years ago after having the occasional leaker with stainless-sleeved, lip-seal style calipers. This spring, I had a leak in the right front. Although it was covered by warranty, it was not pleasant to have to go through change out so soon. Also, it seems to me like the o-ring calipers present more rolling resistance than the lip-seal. My car is used May - Nov, then stored similar to your.
