I have linked to a photo of an upper control arm bushing I purchased from a vendor. Unfortunately the person who pressed the bushing off of my control arms threw them away and I can no longer visually compare them. Would someone who has an original or nos upper control arm bushing let me know if the one pictured is the same or similar to the originals.

Shane and Bill-----
Yes, I agree that this bushing appears virtually identical to the GM #3711826 used from 1963 through about 1973 production. Although I can't tell the size of the bushing from the picture, it should be 1-1/2"OD and 1-1/2"overall length. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Correct Appearing Upper Control Arm Bushing?
Thanks for the confirmation guys. They are 1 1/2" OD and just a little over 1 1/2" long. On the face of them it says Gould 62137. They cost me $10.00 each, and that seemed OK considering the common replacement ones were $7.00 each and looked nothing like the originals. Now if I can only hunt down lower ball joints similar to the originals. This Site has become an addiction- I find myself reading posts on all the years whether I am likely to own one or not. It amazes me that such a wealth of information could exist- much less be cheerfully shared with others just for asking.- Top

Re: Correct Appearing Upper Control Arm Bushing?
I to just replaced my two upper bushing for a '79 They look similar but the rubber only protruded through on the larger face. I got mine at NAPA for $5.63, the last ones worked for 18 yrs or so, so should these. I also did my ball joints and ordered them online for $52.00 for the set with shipping from Andover Automotive.- Top

Re: not correct appearing
Martin - the bushing you describe is commonly available - but the rubber on originals sticks out both sides. The image Shane posted looks correct and that is the reason I, and I am sure others, want to know where he got it. I predict Corvette owners will beat a path to that door.

Sorry for not mentioning it sooner, I couldn't remember the name of the place so I had to dig out my receipt. See the link below. http://www.corvetteusa.com/suspension.html
