C2 Outside mirror date

I want to change my outside mirror for a new one (cosmetic reasons). The date on mine is 3-DMI-4. As I understand March 1964. My 1965 car has serial number 48, so built in the first week of August 1964. Should the date not have been from July? Or, is my current RV mirror maybe not the original one?

Your mirror fits into the 6 month window.

I'd say original, a earlier date doesn't bother me.

I have a June 67 car and my mirror is dated January 67. They must have made them in batches.
