    C-2 Original water pump rebuild

I wanted to share this water pump rebuild kit with everyone. Its perfect way to keep your original water pump. Kit came with impeller shaft assembly, seal, and a tool for pressing in seal. Directions were included with tolerances. It was very simple to do and came out mint. You will need to have a press. Kit was made by Long Island Corvette Supply.

    Dan,

Do you know if LIC has the hubs with just 4 holes, as original?

      Daniel-----

I presume that the hub and the impeller are what came out of the pump? If so, this was a much later SERVICE waterpump or it's been rebuilt before. The "8 hole" hub, while it may have been used alternately on some PRODUCTION waterpumps, was generally used only on SERVICE waterpumps or installed by rebuilders.

The stamped steel impeller was not originally used on waterpumps of the 60s and early 70s. Those pumps all used a cast iron impeller. I consider the cast impeller to be functionally superior. However, the stamped steel unit can be modified to be approximately equal if a round, flat steel plate is rivetted to the rear of it. This plate is available from "Flowcooler". In any event, I feel that the stamped steel impeller, as-is, will perform very adequately if you've already assembled the pump. Certainly, it would not be worthwhile to disaasemble and reassemble it for this modification.
