I converted my original block from canister to spin on oil filter type. the filter that came with the conversion part doesn't seat properly and oil leaks. Does anyone have this same setup who can give me the brand and ID number for the correct filter? THanks, Randy.

Randy-----
Unfortunately, there are/were several different conversion kits out there for pre-68 Chevrolet engines. The kit once offered by GM, as well as some others, used the AC PF-25 filter (or, PF-35, PF-454, etc.). Some of the others used a Ford filter, I believe. Like, maybe, a PF-2. Those are the only 2 styles that I am aware of, although there may be others.
What surprises me is that I would think that the filter supplied with the conversion kit would be the correct one for use with that kit. It's hard to imagine that a filter would be supplied which was not the correct one for the kit. And, I would think that the filter model/type number would be provided somewhere in the kit, too. So, even if the filter supplied with the kit happened to be defective or damaged, the filter that you need to use with the kit ought to be somewhere specified. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
