69 corvette interior

We will be restoring the interior of our 69 this winter. This includes
repairing/redying dash pads, door panels, etc. Replacing carpet, duct work
seals and heater core while everything is out. Also refacing guages. In case
we run into a problem, which is probably guaranteed. Does anyone know of an
interior specialist familiar with the unique interior of a 69, i.e. vacuum
hook-ups, electrical connections, etc. in the Oxford/Anniston Alabama area?
This is between Birmingham and Atlanta. Thanks in advance for any help.

Make sure you have an assembly manual, take notes and pictures. It is not too bad if it is a non-air car. Terry

Hi Frank, hi Paula,

I've done this work last winter. The goal was to change the wire harness that was really bad.

First advice: buy a digital camera and take as much pictures as possible. The more the better.
Second: Be aware of the sockets for the instrument blubs. They fell apart when you even look at them. I have to mount and dismount the left dashbord six times until they all fit.
Third: I had to replace the upper dash. The reproduction fits perfect, but there is one bolt behind the left dash that doesn't fit. I cut it off.
Fourth: Check your wire harness! The insulation off the wires must be perfect. If not change the wire harness. You'll never do it again when the car is assembled again.
Fifth: Don't think of two or three weeks of work - think in months.
