The rubber grip on my e-brake handle is cracked. How do I remove it and where do I get another?

I don't think that the rubber handle for the 78 style parking brake handle is currently available in reproduction, although the styrene plastic handle for earlier applications is now available.

However, all is not lost. You can still purchase the handle as part of the complete parking brake control assembly and the unit currently available from GM is virtually identical to your original. It's available under GM #14033719 and it currently GM lists for $94.86 but you should be able to buy one for about 70 bucks. Owners of earlier cars wish it was that easy and cheap to get an original-configuration handle.
