Re: Rare 67 Small Block?
Jim, in 38 years since that car was built, people have put so many big block hoods on cars it is ridiculous. You need to be sure it is the original owner or maybe second owner, original paint, and a lot of documented stuff before you could ever consider the unusual configuration to be factory.
Also, the few cars that Noland claims did have them happened a few days in March. A 22xxx car was built in June, LONG after the problem with the hoods.- Top

Re: Rare 67 Small Block?
Jim, I would say that, based on the VIN alone, that car could NOT be a big block hood car. That production aberration occured only during middle/late March, 1967 (VINs in 16xxx). The small block hood mold was damaged, thus forcing ALL Corvettes to be equipped with BB hoods for a short period. Unfortunately, there has never been any official factory documentation of this occurrence on a particular vehicle(s) such as tank sticker notations or invoice notes, etc. produced to substantiate any claim to originality of such a hood.

Same engine assembly code
Jim,
My 67, 300 HP has the same engine code and date V0626HE. The serial number is 22049, what's yours, it must be pretty close to mine. Mine has it's original small block hood.
If you have the original or an older Holley on it, I'd be interested in knowing the List Number and date code. I've always suspected that they threw me a fluke on the original carb.
