C2 AC Condenser and horn interference

    Re 1966 with AC

I would like some opinions why my driver's side horn doesn't mount correctly next to the AC condenser. The condenser bracket partially covers the horn mounting hole in the radiator support. The horn should mount vertically as shown in UPC 12 A5

I would suspect the condenser is too wide but it bolted right up to the factory holes. The width of the condenser is approx 24 1/2" U tube to U tube and 26" wide bracket to bracket.

What is correct width of condenser? UPC C60 B2 lists 2 different condenser part numbers, one for L36
Is there a way to identify correct brackets

I've tried to post a picture.

        Randy -

The Kodak "Easy-Share" links hardly ever work, and when they do, they require an e-mail address and password (just ran yours, did the same thing).

Are you using the re-drilled mounting holes and riveted-on anchor plate for the pass. side A/C horn attachment?

Yes I had difficulties getting it to post. I used www.ofoto.com referenced in the help section of how to post. Perhaps John W could reference a more user friendly site.

Yes the pass side uses the anchor plate horn mount as shown in C60 section.

For starters, the horn "bell" never faces up.

                Bill,
That's correct. I am sure the horn bracket mounts vertically which fixes the horn bell orientation problem. But because of the condender end bracket interferes with the horn mounting hole, it is mounted incorrectly.

If you have an air car I would appreciate some dimensions on your condenser.

last one I had was a '65 and the inlet and outlet were differently configured, but I have the old one in the barn. I think the actual condensor was the same. I'll measure it as soon as I can.
