Happy to help, Geoff! The reason I went private with the explaination vs. making it public, is due to prior posts. This has come up several times before and both John Hinckley and I have talked about the function of the mirror's sleeve/bushing.

So, instead of simply saying "go search the archieves" (many find this a difficult, time consuming task), I often go off-board, 1:1, with folks to give advice. Sometimes repeating an answer/topic is healthy, but other times it's simply a PITA task that takes up additional NCRS disk storage space....

Now that the explaination is out does anyone sell this little bushing? I would love to stop the mirror in my car from flopping around.

A Junkyard Hunt is easy and fast

Apparently most if not all GM models, that have an inside mirror that is not glued to the windshield should have one.
