    C1 overspray questions

The new lacquer is on my '56 now. When the silver coves are shot in what should the inside jamb area and the front door inside lip look like as the silver "rounds the corners". Should it be featherd looking or sharp line of demarcation? Also, should the top of the gas tank cover (that is shoreline beige) directly behind the glove box between the seats have any body color overspray on it ? In my case Arctic Blue overspray on Shoreline Beige? Thanks.

    Re: C1 overspray questions

There have been 97 hits on this question so far without anyone even attempting to try to provide an answer. The ironic part is that I will find the one guy that " without a doubt knows" how it should look and he will be the guy judging my car at National next summer. Sure would like to know now instead of when it is too late............

Gary - Way too much fun...

I'll do the easy one first. NO body color overspray on tank cover... Best, DC

Dennis, of course my second post was very much tounge-in-cheek but certainly has some element of truth to it don't you think? Thanks for taking a stab at the easy one. I appreciate it.....seriously!

Gary - On the cove color, I will offer what I would do. This does not mean that this is what the General did. Mask the cove, which I would describe as just about exactly under the middle of the SS trim. Wrap the cove color around the (back) of the front wheel well opening. Open the door, mask one edge of the front door opening to block overspray intrusion and slam the door, shoot the cove and don't fiddle with any door jamb overspray issues or opinions. Tell the judges that was the way you guys did it on the line @ St Louis... If they don't believe you, send them to me. I'm really old so maybe they will believe me... Best, Dennis
