smog pump/eng assy date question

Could the smog pump assy date be after the engine assy date or must it be before the engine assy date? While I'm at it would this same rule of thumb apply to the alternator and carb(s) also? Thanks.

AIR pumps. alternators and carbs were installed at the vehicle assembly plant, not the engine plant. So, the dates on those components could fall after the engine assembly date. However, they cannot fall after the vehicle assembly date.

Good question! I believe the answer is yes but it should preceed the body assembly date. But there are others that will know for sure. Terry
