Regarding C2's, if one has the body stripped of exterior panels, is there any difference between a convertible and a coupe body structure (from the firewall back & excluding doors and birdcage)????
Thanks, Joseph Rock
Looking at the potential of a convertible, devoid of exterior panels to build a Grand Sport Prototype coupe. The plan is for fixed headlights, slightly widened fenders, GT "trunklid", etc.
You will need the upper birdcage and I think the front at the windshield is slightly different. I think the birdcage uprights at the back of the doors are different at the top of the fender in the convertible and the coupe, but I doubt it is much.
Not that it will matter that much, since if you are fabricating a body, you can easily fabricate a few changes in the birdcage.
You will have items like the deck hinges and the convertible top mounting plates that are unnecessary.
