Well, it finally happened. After owning my 67 for 33 years, I had a little "mishap" the other day and I find myself in need of some body repair. Having not gone through this before, I was wondering if anyone can recommend a very good shop in the New England area. I live in Massachusetts and the car is drivable. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Body repair shops in New England area
Is the paint lacquer? If so, many shops won't want to touch it. This place repaired my minor fiberglass damage and matched the 20+ year old lacquer perfectly.

Not a Corvette place, but many high end cars in the shop. He likes Corvettes too. Lacquer didn't bother him at all.
You should get responses from other New England members about the usual expensive and good places. I understand that they are good. But get your car to one of them now. You may get it by next Spring. I was very pleased with Needham. You can walk from the shop to the Needham commuter train. Just outside of Needham center.- Top

Re: Body repair shops in New England area
I just had my 68 painted and some minor front end valance work done at a place in Ashland Mass. Called Corvettes and Classics, a one man shop.
There is also a very good body shop in Sudbury Mass called Kearney Automotive on Union Avenue, one man shop in same location for 27 + years. Owner is Bill Kearney and he owns several Corvettes and does lots of Corvettes for other restorers. He also has a 50s dragster that he races at the track, plus a midyear Corvette with a blower coming through the hood that he drives around town. He's a car guy for sure. His work is excellent, I have had him do some floorboard repair on my 68 a few years ago. He knows Corvettes inside and out. Reasonably priced, will even barter if you have something he wants. They are both in the phonebook, but if you can't find them e-mail me and I will get you the numbers.

Re: Body repair shops in New England area
These are the usual suspects. I've only had experience with Ron's. I can vouch for his work. There's others. But these are the names that come up consistently when this question is asked.
Ron’s Restoration in Fitchburg Mass, 800-524-6195.
Nickole Autobody in Saugus MA, on Route 1 South, next to the Hilltop and behind "On the Border".
The Stingray Shop, 8 Woodfinn Terrace, Marblehead, MA, Bob DiPippo, 781-639-3527.
Dennis Pacy, Endless Summer, 978-635-0559 in Ayer, MA.
Corvette Connection - Ron Belben, 978-646-996- Top
