1965 Holley 4150 Choke Rod Setting

I own a 1965 327/365 with the Holley 4150 carb.I believe the choke rod setting had been tampered with by a previous owner. Can not get the car to idle without stalling while on the choke (have to depress the throttle myself), runs fine after warmup. Also very rich while on choke. Choke is set 1 notch lean as per spec. Unloader set to spec.Choke linkage is not sticking. Fast idle is set to spec. I looked in the shop manual for choke rod info., but none is given. Does anybody know the setting for choke rod length and the proper method for setting this.Thank you.

    Joe-----

If the choke rod has been bent or distorted there are only two ways that I could imagine that it could be repaired to original configuration. First, would be comparing it to a known originally configured rod and reconfiguring yours to match. Second, would be simply replacing the rod with a new one. The original GM part, GM #2367977, has been discontinued. However, the Holley number for this part is 43R-203 and it may still be available from them.
