    66 installing power brakes, help

Help. I decided to put power brakes on my car. I pulled the booster out of the box to see how it would line up...it doesn't. I see mounting plate w/weld nuts in the Zip catalog. Do the upper bolts screw into that? If anyone has done this before, please, throw me a bone. Thanks Bill#44207

      Bill,

You're right about the mounting plate with the weld nuts. The plate gets rivetted to the firewall and accepts the bolts, as you say. If you have an assembly manual, it will give you the measurements for locating the holes in the firewall. If you don't have one, maybe I, or someone can email you a picture of that page in the manual.

You need four holes, two for the rivets and two for the bolts to go through into the plate.

The plate, bolts, rivets, and dimensions for the holes are shown in your assembly manual in Section J50, sheet A2.

I would like to upgrade my 67 vette to power brakes. Does anyone sell this plate or do you need to make it. Also do I need to change the brake pedal Terry

I believe Long Island has the plate in their catalog.
