I have come across a fan I bought many years ago for my 66 automatic, 427 factory a/c coupe. it is 7 blades, part number 3853943, the box is dated 4-6-67. Any thoughts on this fan? Correct or not?

I don't have a copy of the '66 AIM handy, but the '67 AIM I have calls for one of two fans to be used with C60: PN 3789562 is the primary part and PN 3863137 is the [OPT] part (alternate supplier).... The later is a little higher PN than what you have, might be '66 call out a different set of PN's.... -

I don't know if I will lose points for it but I am going to use it-it looks aggresive-like it will move a lot of air.Comment

Ken - The 7-blade fan blade assembly (3853943) you have is the 18" diameter fan blade assembly that was original equipment on 1964-65 Corvettes w/ C60 per the AIMs and Noland Adams, book (page 218). I would not expect it to have been factory installed on 66 sb or BB Corvettes w/ C60. While 66 & 67 sb Corvette's did have 2 optional fan blade assemblies, both were 18" diameter and had 5-blades and 66 & 67 BB Corvettes w & w/o C60 used the same fan blade assembly, 3888366, that is 17-1/2" diameter.
