what is the correct tach for 1957 corvette? The one with or without the engine cumulative rev counter or not.

My 57 has the cumulative revs gauge on it. I have never questioned it, I always thought it was original.

BL, My 57 along with Mike's has the cummulative tach. Interesting though, my tach has a max of 6000 RPM and I have seen a picture of a 7000 RPM tach in a Corvette book [in dash]. There is the 8000 RPM steering column, which is talked about, but I have never seen, read or heard anything about a 7000 RPM tach. 270 and 283 HP engines revved higher than 6000, so have you or anyone else got any info on this 7000 tach?Comment
