    '68 Vacuum Line Brackets

Hello again, everybody! I have a question concerning two J-brackets which support vacuum lines. These brackets are riveted opposite each other (passenger side and driver side) on the fender ledge which extends underneath the hood, about 8-12" from the firewall. The driver side bracket supports the vacuum lines coming from the headlight doors, etc, and the passenger side bracket supports the vacuum lines and washer hose coming from the inner fender well area.

My question is, exactly where are these brackets mounted, i.e. distance from rear edge of hood or whatever, and what kind or rivet is used, i.e. pop rivet or assembly rivets. My fenders were new and do not have the holes for these brackets.

Thanks so much for your help!

    Michael,

From the open end of the channel (nearest the firewall) to the center of the rivet head is almost dead-on 12". The rivets aren't exactly centered in the channel, either, but they're close. Only one of my two has an original rivet left, and from what I can tell it is a round head assembly rivet. TBarr #24014
