hood stripes 70-72

why did chevrolet put a set of stripes on the hoods that had LT-1? an not put stripes on the big block cars? were they going to put a set on the LS-7? then why not put them on the LS-6? I can see why the did it in a way for the LT-1 cars with the BB hood, to say hay we got a hot one under here. anyone know the answer?

I don't think that anyone could provide a definitive answer to this question at this point. However, I'm pretty confident that the answer lies in the area of "styling differentiation". In other words, they wanted to differentiate between small block applications of the hood and big block applications of the hood. It does not mean that one is "better" or one is "worse", although folks may come to one conclusion or the other on the basis of their own tastes and "prejudices".
