    Powder coating intake manifold

Does anyone have experience with powder coating (Chevy orange color) cast iron intake manifolds? Specifically, does the powder coating burn off and/or discolor in the two "hot-slot" passage areas where exhaust gas exposure exists?

Let's hope it does burn off, just like it's supposed to.

Powder coatings are not meant to take the heat just as any other ordinary coating. They have to be specially formulated to be heat resistant. They are cured in a 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes. If a part is left in too long, it will loose gloss and color will change. The longer it is over baked, the more gloss is lost and the more the color will darken and yellow.
