The gauge is pegged all the time. I removed wire at sender still pegged. I removed wire at gauge and still pegged. I removed gauge and on the back are three studs. Sensor,power and the third I assume is ground. I believe the gauge is bad because I have continutiy between the sensor post and the other two post. Does this sound right. Thanks ED
You removed the wire at the sensor, but did you ground it? It works as a variable resistor. The test is to remove it and ground it. This gives full deflection both ways.
My understanding is if I remove wire at sensor it should read zero and if I ground the wire it should peg out at max. That is if system is working properly.
