    Heater core 72

    I have found that the heater core was by passed in the engine compartment, I can only assume it was leaking. have new core can any one give me any advice before I start.

    Follow the R&R procedure in the Chevrolet Service Manual; that's the best advice I can give. The job will take quite awhile. Mitchell's Labor Estimating Guide gives a time of 2.8 hours for non C-60 and 4 hours for C-60 cars. However, this is for a professional mechanic. You can probably figure twice that time doing it for the first time as an amateur.

      After removing the nuts on the firewall the fan and housing their may be jam nuts covered with sealer on the studs that need to be removed.
