67 exhaust manifold date code questions

I was foolin' with the manifolds off one of my 67 L71's tonight and ran across something I've never noticed before: First, I'm of the opinion that the car has every piece of the original engine intact and am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN of the block and heads and have no reason to believe one exhaust manifold was swapped. The block date is B 26 7, the right manifold H 30 6 and the left has what appears to be a 1 as the first character, (1 14 7) NOT AN I. It has a 1 in the first position that looks just like the 1 in the 14. Did they ever use a 1 for Jan on any component like a manifold, was it a mistake in arranging the date coder for the mold, or is this a 9th month part that was somehow replaced on this car? With all the other history the latter possibility seems unlikely.

In the world of casting marks, a "1" is occasionally seen as a substitute for an "I", and vice-versa.
