    1971 Holley LS6 carb?

I believe I have a Holley carb off my fathers(since sold) '71 LS6 corvette. The #s on the choke horn are as follows:

    3986195

    LIST 4803-1

    143
The carb is in good to great shape. It has some sort of vacuum solinoid on the front of it. I am looking to sell this carb, so any info on what it is or where to sell it would be greatly appreciated. I would like to see the carb go to someone that needs the carb. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or if you want pics. Thanks in advance for all your help.

The carburetor is the one used for 1971 Corvette LS-6 with manual transmission applications. The date code indicates that this carb was manufactured during the 3rd week of April, 1971.

No, I don't. The market should be quite limited. There were only 188 1971 LS-6 Corvettes ever made. All of those were not manual transmission, either, so the number of cars originally using this carburetor was quite limited. Plus, the date code would only work for cars produced in the very last part of the model year. Of course, the carburetor could be used for other applications, but it would not have a high value for other applications.

This carburetor was also scheduled to be used for 1971 Chevelles with LS-6 and manual transmission. However, no 1971 Chevelles with LS-6 were ever actually manufactured. So, there "evaporates" what might otherwise be the major market for this carb.

The 4803 was manufactured for years by Holley as a "reproduction carburetor". I purchased a new one years ago for my "ZL-1" project. That's the carb that I'm going to use on it. I'll bet that carb is close to 10 years old now. It's been a "carb-in-waiting" for all this time.

Some are older (but they're all brand new). I think that Sara is just about ready to declare me a lost cause. It's getting REAL, REAL close to that.

Maybe she already has, just not to your face.

You MUST have done something since I was there 2 months ago. You were only about 2 days worth of work away from getting it in there.
