If you find a source, let me know. I've been looking for one for a long time.

You guys looking for the cover that goes over the converter? I see them all the time, unless 62 is special, let me know.

        Ray-----

The original underpan for your application was GM #3789959. This part was discontinued in March, 1977 and replaced by GM #3933089. The latter part was available until recently, but has now been discontinued. While it was fully functional and you may still find some of these in dealer stock, it is made of plastic and not of metal, as original.

Nevertheless, the GM #3789959 underpan was not a Corvette-unique piece. It was used on a WIDE variety of applications during the 1962-67 period---just about all applications with Powerglide used this underpan. They just could not be rare, even today.

Try Sloan Racing Trans & Performance Center @ www.sloanracingtrans.com
Bob Sloan has been with the Aluminum Case Powerglide since it was introduced for the 1962 line in 1961, and he has taught his son & partner Jim very well. These guys are into the racing conversion for the powerglide but understand it better than anyone else I have ever had the pleasure to discuss powerglides with. Part of my past annual Bloomington Gold experence, when this show was held in its namesake, was to visit the Sloan shop in nearby Normal, Illinois, sit, quaff a few beers, and let these boys compete to see which one could tell me the most about the early Aluminum Case Powerglide -- a most enjoyable experience. Just last week I received notice from Jim that they had moved to larger facilities in Colfax, Illinois. No guarantees, but with the racing conversion business they are in, and the powerglides they go through, they just may have a few original underpans just cluttering up the place.
