    Power Booster Retrofit

Gentlemen, I have a '75 c-3 without power brakes. I have boosted the engine HP to roughly 300-330. I was thinking about retrofitting a power brake booster to this car. Are the only parts I will need a power brake booster, PB master? Does the diverter valve need to be changed for a proportioning valve? Is the install difficult? Will I see a significant difference in the braking power of the automobile? Thanks for any information you can pass along. John

I believe the master cylinder is different between PB and non-PB cars, as well as the little push rod that actually "activates" the master cylinder mechanism. I don't know about the proportioning valve.

I've got a '75 with PB, and a friend had a '73 non-PB car. The non-PB car requires more foot pressure to brake, but I can't say that I noticed much difference in getting either one stopped. That first stop in a non-PB car can be quite a surprise though if you don't realize that you're in a non-PB car.
