I have my instrument cluster all apart and there is a slot about 1 1/2 inches cut out of the side right next to where the ignition key mounts. Thios is on the vertical surface between the face andf the rear of the cluster. It looks like it was done at the facorty that way but it had a piece of tape over it. I was looking at another cluster on ebay and it appeared to have the same slot in it. First I want to claify if this is supposed to be there and then is it supposed to be covered and if so what with? If not is there supposed to be something that fits there?
Thanks in advance.
Sheldon
The tape is factory, from AC Spark Plug - it was applied there to address a light-leak problem; the tape was cheaper than pulling the die-cast mold for the cluster and re-machining it.
