Bob - make sure your rear rotors are true and not causing any pumping either....lateral runout should be no more that a few thousanths....Craig

What we are doing is installing all new Brake pads(Hawk HPS Carbons),new slotted rear rotors(fronts already slotted & fairly new),s/s rear caliper lines,s/s braided hoses,s/s brake pad pins, master cylinder, pretty much the works....I would expect the lateral runout to be ok with the new rear rotors, being that they are new....Bob

Bob - that can be an issue. The rotors and spindles were trued AFTER riveting together. Many times, the spindle flanges themselves are off, and hence, perfectly true rotors will be off when installed, causing issues. This is also why when the rivets are drilled, and someone just slaps them back on, without paying attention to original alignment, they can be rotated and cause lateral runout problems. The correct way to install new rear rotors is to re-rivet the rotors to the spindles and have them machined as a unit again to be true. This is what reputable outfits such as Bairs do when you send them in. There are some "shim kits" out there to adjust the rotors when the spindles are still in the trailing arms, and if you want to proceed without disassembling the spindles and bearings, this may work. You need to at least check the lateral runout with dial indicators. Remember, if your bearing end play is not tight, you can get suspect reading due to that as well....Craig
