    C2 Stamp Pad (Font Size)

Is the correct size for the stamps 1/4" for the date/engine ID and 3/16" for the VIN derivitive? Is this correct for all the C2 model years? Is it the same for BB and SB cars? Someone was telling me that some cars had 3/16" for the date/engine and 5/32" for the VIN.

Same for all C-2 years, change came with C-3. Correct size is in the JG.

Per the '65 JG, 1/4 for the engine ID and 3/16 for the VIN derivitive.

Re: C2 Stamp Pad (Font Size)

I am posting a picture of a original stamp pad from a 1965 250HP restoration project.

            Hope this helps!

Talking height. Pad length not an issue - it was 3-1/8" until 1965.

THANK YOU . so this would make the width 5/32 " on the serial # and 3/16 " on the date & code ... THANKS

Re: So the JG is wrong??? Font size.

Are all the JG wrong about this?
We are talking about the font size. (Height)
It looks to me that the correct size is 3/16" for the engine ID. (Not 1/4") The VIN stamp is 5/32" (Not 3/16")
Can someone measure their numbers on a known original block?
                  Thanks

                    I believe the height is 1/4 " on date code with a 3/16 " width & 3/16 "height on the serial # with a 5/32 " width . On the pads

Yes Ken, I believe the 1/4" and 3/16" number sizes are incorrect. I'll explain thoroughly later in a new post. It's about time this is sorted out and I was wondering how long it would take for someone to bring this up.
