I read somewhere that the rear latches should be locked down first as they do not have enough strength to pull the rear bow down with the front latches latched.

        Geoff,
I allways latch the rears first and then the fronts. The new repro latches do not open quite as high as originals, and sometimes you need to lift on the front header to get the trapeze latches to go low enough and far enough back to get under the rear latch. This is especially so if the rear weatherstrip is fairly new and not crunched down yet. I put my tops on so tight that there is no way that you could get the rears latched after the fronts were.

Ditto, etc. The lift on the reproductions doesn't seem to be as much as the originals, but they are still functional. My rear latches do not have enough strength to pull the top down so I latch them first and then press down on the front of the top to latch at the windshield frame.

            Hi!

I latch the rear first but do not secure in its lowest position. I then do the same at the front. I then secure the rear to its lowest position and then the front to its lowest position, but I am just a rookie C-1 owner on this forum so I am most likely doing it wrong.
