        Ken:

        414: Blue Vinyl trim

AA: Dual suffix designates St Louis body

        First "A" designates "coupe model"

Second "A" indicates a specific combination of allowable options, based on interior trim and body style. It is also known as the "ECL" code. "ECL" means "exception control letter". Many ECL codes are listed in Herr Grenning's "Trim Tag Authentication" book. I do not own it, but somebody here will surely look it up for you.

          PS

There is ONE exception to the "first letter is 'A' for coupes" rule. That is cars with black leather interiors. FOR 1965 ONLY, all cars with black leather carried an ECL code of "AA", coupes and convertibles. In this case, the code specified "no exceptions", meaning that there were no restrictions on possible option combinations.
This should not apply in your case, with blue vinyl.

            Re: trim

            Ken,
I Have Al and Roy's trim tag book. If I am reading right, on page 52 in the 65 chart it states that the ECL of AA includes options "base". Others will need to help. (Does this refer to engine?) It excludes options A31, M35,N03.
Another example from the chart is ECL AH. It incudes A31, N03 and excludes M35.

From what I have read the ECL code and this book will tell you what options could have been on your car and what options were not available on your car. This could help verify if options were added.
            I hope this helps some.
            Frank
