Mike------
I don't know if the configuration of the tip is exactly like that of the application you describe. However, the tip is "pointed". In any event, the part available today is the same as the part this guy paid 130 bucks for.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Barret-Jackson is coming up...
Dan - my experience at BJ is the correctness is not a big factor......I have seen very obvious small block cars with big blocks go through for high $$$ without a glitch. One guy was interested in a yellow 66 2 years ago and I was looking it over.......wrong block casting numbers, small block fuel line, no caps on the halfshafts.....no rear sway bar......yada yada. He really thanked me for my input......the car still went for high $ BB price....Craig- Top

Re: Barret-Jackson is coming up...
I had contimplated bringing a survivor 67 Chevelle SS 396 Convertible to em this year. One owner car with all docs. Build sheet etc. Did'nt matter to em wanted to make sure it was VERY shiney. Strong no. 3 car. But a real one. Saleman keep stressing to me it's marketing, marketing, marketing. So some shrewd individual paid 132K for a 67 SS 396 convt.last year. Cause it was shiney, shiney, shiney. I'll wait.- Top

Re: Barret-Jackson is coming up...
I also wanted to bring my original paint, drivetrain 67 435 roadster but since the paint is not 100% perfect they had very little interest. Nevermind that the car has received judging awards and is unquestionably the real deal it is in their minds not worthy because of the original paint LOL.- Top

Re: Barret-Jackson is coming up...
I agree, not bragging or complaining but the 67 13867 Chevelle won Best 60's Original Car (Salida Co.) in a field of over 300 last Sept. In my mind I'm guess like the English. Who seem go for original cars vs. Over shiney, Over restored and definetly over my budget cars.- Top

Re: Barret-Jackson is coming up...
I am convinced the BJ guys don't know Jack. There was a 4500 mile (Cuda for example): they criticized the paint job as sloppy restoration, because of overspray. They have no appreciation of an original car. It was the way the factory painted a car. I record the show so I can zip through the commercials and commentary. I still enjoy the crap out of the show. Re: Barret-Jackson is coming up...
Gotta remember ther're salesman first and foremost. They would'nt know a cresent wrench from a cresant roll. But they do entertain with both commentary and lights show. But when I see 435HP cars, LS6 etc going for 200-300K I can't help but feel "Better him than me".- Top
