C2 Antenna retraction

Guys,

How far is the antenna supposed to retract on a 1966? Does the last mast section , approx 8", remain extended or do all sections retract to approx flush with the deck?

Fully retracted antenna should extend 13" above the deck.

Gary,

Now all you have to do is reinforce the antenna hole. I normally leave my antenna up all the time and just purchased a Back East car cover that requires cutting hole for antenna. When I lowered the antenna I couldn't remember how low it was supposed to retract.

guess most manufacturers didn't take into account when making the covers that the mast stayed up 13" on the versions with the power antenna option

I don't think the power antenna was an 'option'...if you got a factory radio in 1965 for example, I think the power antenna was the only antenna available.
