Posted Again... 72 Radiator Decal????

I have a 1972 March, LS-5 with A/C.... several reputable vendors sell a decal for 1972 BB's that is placed somewhere on the fan shroud.

I have seen several "original" 72 LS-5's, with A/C that do not have any decals on the shroud.

Can anyone tell me if one really belongs there and where it is placed?

I have only judged these cars a little over 20 years but I have never seen a FACTORY installed decal. Describe the decal you are refering to please

There are actually three decals that I see... specifically in Dr. ReBuild's catalogue....
One is an inspection decal... #8 that goes on the expansion tank.. (somewhere)One is an inspection decal... #3 that goes on the radiator...(again somewhere)

and one is a "Cooling System Warning" decal, (Dr. Rebuild #8999412) it is listed for the year 72 (there are other numbers for other years) ..... maybe it is for an aluminum radiator??

I have been doing this a long time too, and I am in the process of getting my car ready to be judged.... I have never seen the decals listed in this catalogue, but I know that they are usually accurate....

I have an old manual, and it shows nothing.... that's probably my answer to my question!

Lou, the first two decals definitely go on small block base engine cars with manual transmission and no A/C. These cars had the 3155316 aluminum radiators. I can only surmise that the Cooling System Warning decal was also used on these cars. I believe that the aluminum radiator had such a decal.
