My information indicates that the UAW strike against GM began on September 25, 1964 and continued until November 8, 1964. Any info out there to the contrary or more detailed? TIA.

The settlement on the corporate National Agreement was reached on October 6th, but St. Louis remained on strike over local issues until their local agreement was reached on November 6th.
I started with Chevrolet on October 19, 1964 at Willow Run, and the plant was up and running.- Top

Other locations may or may not have gone back to work on October 6th, depending on the status of their local negotiations; if local issues were still unresolved, they'd stay out until local negotiations were wrapped up and the local agreement was ratified before they went back to work.- Top

The Posi units were made outside (by Dana in '63-'64 and by Eaton from '65-up) and shipped into Chevrolet-Warren, where the diffs were assembled. Don't have any strike history on outside suppliers, but Chevrolet-Warren was out on strike along with the rest of GM during that time.- Top
