In my quest to find an original 69 big block idle stop solenoid & bracketry
for a big block ( Holley equipped ) restoration, I came across this solenoid
part number: DR-1997420
Is this correct for this application, or a service item?
I acn't find any record, at all, of GM #1997420. It was never available in SERVICE, although it may be a PRODUCTION-only piece. In any event, it's not the carb solenoid used for the 1969 Corvette application.
About 10 years ago, or maybe a little more I sent the bracket and solenoid from my 69 400 horse air coupe to ASC in Sparks Nevada so he could repop it. He kept it a while and sent it back, so I'm assuming he made the parts. I know he moved from Nevada, but think he's still doing Corvette related stuff somewhere.
