KO Wheel Spinner Casting Letters Question

My older reproduction KO wheel spinners (from around 1988) have casting letters on the back side that say USA, RH (or LH) plus another 3 digits that are a combination of letters and numbers like 4UA and 3BA, etc.

I just received new repro spinners (to replace the older ones that need rechroming), but the new ones only have a RH or LH casting on the back and no USA or other casting letters. These were made in China and came via Corvette America and shipped directly from PA.

Is there any value to to keeping my older ones on my 1965 Conv and just having them rechromed because of these casting differences?

I'm especially concerned about the lack of USA casting letters plus the back sides of the older ones look like a higher quality casting than the new ones.

Any info or help would be greatly apprecated ... thanks.

    Glenn,
What would you do with the old repo's? I would hang on to them until you sell the car or find out they are far superior to what you just bought.

Rick ... Well, I was actually thinking of simply returning the new spinners for a full refund ($100 ea) and have the old ones rechromed (for about half the cost of the new ones). It does makes me wonder however if the 1988 set of Repro KO's I bought are of better quality than those sold today. Thanks.

Good question. Doesn't it seem that everything made today is of poorer quality and we have turned into a "throw it away" society. Who gets a TV, toaster, vacuum, etc. repaired today? Have we gotten to the point that it's better to repair an older repro than buy a poorer quality repro?
