What exactly is the difference between '66 and '67 a-arm dust shields, and can '67's be trimmed to fit '66 or visa-versa? The reason I ask is I have a pair or NOS '67's, but a '66 car.

Re: '66 and'67 a-arm dust shield differences
Rob,
The '67 dust shields have a short leg on one side. I think you can trim a '63-'66 to make a '67, but not vice-versa. Can you tell me what the texture is on the NOS example? Is it smooth? Or is it sort of oatmeal like?

Oatmeal texture on shields
Rob,
Do the originals on your 66 have the oatmeal texture? All of the repro have it. I was told the shields are made from masticated rubber and the oatmeal texture is what results. The originals on my '66 do not have the oatmeal texture, so I wonder if the base material was changed from the '60s. I was also told that Volunteer Vette makes all the repro shields that are sold be every other vendor, except Dr. Rebuild. I've got a set of repros from VV and a set from Dr. Rebuild and they both have the oatmeal texture, so I don't think anyone makes shields that don't have the oatmeal. Based on your NOS '67 shields, it sounds like even the NOS service shields have the oatmeal texture, so I think we're stuck with that.
