    67 seat "hockey stick" survey

Anyone out there who has a 67 with ORIGINAL seat hockey sticks, please reply:

The NCRS technical guide states that under the seat back release lever, there should be a recess in the metal to accomodate a washer, and that this feature wont be present in reproduction parts. I have two 67 project cars, and I believe that both sets of seats (and the chrome pieces) are original. I was about to send them in for re-chroming and I noticed that the seats from the late car do have the described recesses, but the earlier ones don't have it.

This is very strange, indeed. Have I discovered some anomoly that should be written up in future tech guide editions, or has someone mysteriously replaced my original hockey sticks with imposters. I await your responses before I get these rechromed. It would be helpful to include approximate serial numbers or build dates to see if there is any trend.

    Thanks in advance, Brandon Korman

Brandon, my roadster is an early January '67 car and it did have the recess for the nylon washer. Steve Huskins #28428

Thanks John and Steve for the prompt responses. I'd like to hear from some people with early 67's to see what they have. The car without the recesses was early December 66 built.

Hi Brandon, Checked the hockey sticks on my 1967 vin #22xx built CO3 (Oct 66) and they had the recesses with the plastic bushings. Also cheched two other sets of 67 seats of unknown dates and both had the recesses and plastic bushing. Hope this helps, Page Campbell #2299

              Brandon,

I've been told the interior of my 67 BB is original, but now I'm not so sure. The 'hockey sticks' on the seats are without the recess. My car is, however, a relative late model (June 67 build). Were there known differences at later dates?

PS. Your e-mail address is intriguing. Are you a homeopathist or a medic who just says no?
